Making it all add up
We differentiate between "Add, general-wear spectacles" and "Add, SPORTS". The choice of "Add, SPORTS" depends on how the spectacles will be worn.
Please always give us both additions, specified as follows:
1. Where the spectacles will be mainly for everyday use (e.g. as high base curve prescription sunglasses)
-> enter the add value in the box “Add, general-wear spectacles”. Enter the same value also in the “Add, SPORTS” box.
2. Where the spectacles will be worn for sports, with occasional use at near
-> reduce the general wear add by 0.50D. Enter the reduced add value in the "Add, SPORTS" box.
Reducing the add gives greater comfort in wear thanks to reduced peripheral distortion and improved field of view. The 0.50D add reduction represents the normally used sports near vision.
3. Where the spectacles will be worn for sports but other vision ranges maybe required (normally a longer range than normal reading distance)
-> enter the required add value in the box "Add, SPORTS".
